Ecochain is listed as one of the PACT conformant solutions by WBCSD PACT
April 23, 2024 – Amsterdam. Ecochain is proud to join the PACT network with our mutual goal to enable our clients and their entire value chain to make smart, carbon-informed business decisions to deliver on climate commitments and reach net zero.
We adhere to the technical specifications published by the Partnership for Carbon Transparency (PACT) which is the global standard for calculating and exchanging Scope 3 data across entire value chains. It has been developed by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) with leading stakeholders from across the entire carbon ecosystem – leveraging its role as co-convenor of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
Frans-Willem de Kloet, CEO at Ecochain, stated: “We are proud to be listed in the PACT catalog as a PACT conformant solution. We joined the PACT initiative through our relationship with Unilever, whose suppliers are using Ecochain software to calculate and exchange scope 3 data. It is great to be working with leaders from across the entire carbon ecosystem on this initiative. This step accelerates our mission to reduce the environmental impact by making a life cycle assessment (LCA) software accessible to business users, allowing more companies to take ownership of calculating and reducing their carbon footprint faster and more economically.
“Ecochain completed an interoperability test, which has been implemented since April 15, 2024, for our two LCA software products Ecochain Mobius and Ecochain Helix. The successful completion of conformance testing ensures that our solutions will be able to mutually exchange product-level carbon footprint (PCF) data in a secure and interoperable way. These products will now be listed in the PACT Catalog as a PACT conformant solutions.
Unilever, one of the founding members of the PACT, recognizes the value of this partnership in addressing supply chain emissions. According to Francois Tasmowski, Unilever’s Business Operations Climate Director, “We have the ambition to get to net zero by 2039 and need to accelerate climate action now. We are thrilled that Ecochain as one of Unilever’s key partners in our Supplier Climate Program, has taken the initiative to become PACT conformant, as this will fuel our ability to work together in supporting our value chain in their decarbonization efforts.”
In the global supply chain of the consumer goods industry, it is important to be able to interconnect with other solutions in order to share product carbon footprint information across countries and companies, therefore we are excited to be part of the PACT ecosystem and support our clients to create carbon transparency and unlock faster climate action.
