Hi, my name is Frans-Willem de Kloet. I’m the CEO of Ecochain, and I have some great news to share.
We are very proud to announce that we have become B Corp certified with an amazing 97.1 point score.
By becoming B Corp certified, we are becoming part also of a global movement of companies that believe that profit is not the only, way of doing business, but that also, taking care of the environment and taking care of our people, is an important aspect of doing business.
Of course as Ecochain, we have environment and the impact we have for our customers already high on the agenda. We have calculated already millions of footprints for hundreds of customers. But that’s not the only thing.
It’s not only about the environment, it’s also about what we believe, is an intrinsic part of our culture in being a good company and being good citizens, for the work we do.
To me, a B Corp certification is definitely not only about a piece of paper and a score, it is more about how do we as an organization and as people want to do business? And I’m very, very, pleased with both the team and also our shareholders in supporting us in doing this in the right way.
As an organization and now as a B Corp organization, we of course think of all of the aspects we have to organize to be a good company. Of course, in our case, environment is an important thing. We already, for many years, measure our own footprint and 100% offset the remaining impact that we have as a company.
But we do this also in other ways. We organize vegan lunches when we are in the office. We collect our waste separately and actually everybody in organization thinks about how to do a better job from an environment or social or governance perspective. That is actually being a good company and trying to be better in the future.
And of course it doesn’t stop here. We have a team that looks at anything we can do also in the future to do a better job. Because again, it’s not about being perfect, but at least think about how we can be a good company and do better, tomorrow.
I would like to thank our team and especially the team that was working on getting us certified, our partners, our customers, and our shareholders for supporting us in this journey.
